Is Blanketing Your Horse a Good Idea?
Blanketing horses is very common but is it the right way to go? I believe it varies. There are some horses just made for the cold, and others aren't. Take an Arabic and an Icelandic, their climates are Polar opposites (pun not intended) Arabians are from the desert, While the Icelandic is from Iceland. If you brought the Arabian to Iceland should you blanket it? It's a yes and a no answer. I'll tell you how to know to blanket a horse. If you touch your horse's ear if it feels warm, that means the horse is warm, if it is cold. Put a blanket on. So go outside to the Arabian that is somehow in Iceland, and touch its ear and that'll tell you. If you were touching an Icelandic ear in Iceland it would be warm. The Arabians would probably also be warm. But just like any situation it depends on the weather
