Common Horse Coats According To Wagner
Horses have many coat colors like any other animal, but what are some common ones? The most common of all is a "bay" This coat is a brown, black mane, tail, hooves, and legs, but they come in all shades of browns if you see a black horse it's most likely a dark bay, but there are others types of bays too, such as the bay roan, and the silver bay, bay roans have a bit of white in there mane and tail, as well as there hair, bay roans will have a bay face but white hair mixed with bay from the neck to to tail going down to the legs. The silver bay is a normal bay with a white/cream mane and tail. The chestnut is a red-colored horse with many different variants. These firey horses are red all around, and their mane and tail are a darker red than the horse's coat, and they have white/gray hooves. They also have the liver chestnut, flaxen-chestnut, and red roan. The flaxen chestnut is just when the mane and tail are lighter than the horse, the liver chestnut is very dark. It could be mistaken for a bay, its body is like a red velvet. But the mane and tail will most likely be the same shade of chestnut or it is a bright chestnut. The red roan is the same as a bay roan but just swap the bay for the chestnut.
